The CSFT’s main activity is processing fresh fruit into dried fruit and pineapple juice. Other fruits such as mango, pineapple and papaya are also dried.
For fruit processing, the CSFT mainly uses pineapple, due to its annual abundance. The Center’s production capacity is currently estimated at 15 tonnes of dried pineapple per year, which corresponds to an annual supply of over 360 tonnes of fresh pineapple. On average, 20 to 24 kg of fresh pineapple are needed to obtain 1 kg of dried pineapple. The quantity needed to produce pineapple juice is around 250 tonnes per year.
